(ContentDesk) July 9, 2005 -- A terrorist attack against the american trucking industry is likely, according to Terry M. Evans, CEO, Fleet Defender Consulting Serivces, LLC, a company specializing in providing anti-terrorism and training services to trucking companies nationally. "The governement and the trucking industry have failed to respond adequently to the imminent risk facing our nation" states CEO Evans. "Without question, trucks are the # 1 tool and method used by terroist worldwide, yet we have done little to protect this huge and very public industry. Imagine the chaos and economic disaster that would follow a terroist attack using trucks.
Tractor trailers have access to virtually any target terrorists would desire across the entire country. We are not providing even basic controls. While we focus on airports, we have left the front door wide open. Visit any truck stop in the country and you will find trucks idling unlocked and unattended while the driver sits inside having his meal." "Worse than this", reports CEO Evans, "the shrinking driver pool has encouraged trucking companies to hire anyone with a commercial driver's license. " "This license is rather simple to obtain without any government screening and virtually gives the keys to opportunity to the enemy." More information regarding this serious issue can be obtained by visiting www.fleetdefender.com..
Famous Swedish brand names
This article offers some general background information on some well-known Swedish brand names, although some of them may not be commonly recognised as originally Swedish.
Sweden is quite unusual in that, for the size of the country, it has a relatively large number of world-class companies. Until recently, these were largely Swedish owned, and several still are, but some are now owned, wholly or partly, by non-Swedish groups but are still seen as Swedish. However, most of these companies are not familiar to the majority of people because they sell to other industries and not to the general public.
People working in those industries will readily recognise such names as Alfa Laval (separators, heat transfer and fluid handling systems), Aga (industrial gases - now part of the Linde Group), Atlas Copco (compressors, mining and construction equipment), ASEA (electrical equipment - now part of ABB), SKF (world number 1 in ball and roller bearings and seals), SCA (pulp...
GMC Sierra Crafted To Do Good Work
The GMC is a brand of vehicles, cars, and trucks that has constantly and continually been described as the "Professional Grade". At present, this vehicle brand is the truck manufacturing division of the General Motors Corporation, and this brand also manufactures and markets various kinds of trucks. These trucks could actually range from the light duty pickup trucks to sport utility vehicles to medium duty commercial trucks. Some models that are sold under this brand include the GMC Sierra, the GMC Savana, the GMC Safari, the GMC Envoy, and the GMC Yukon.
However, before this brand became a part of the whole General Motors Corporation, GMC has been known as the Grabowski Motor Company.
This company is the manufacturer of the earliest commercial trucks in the automotive business. Come 1909, General Motors then purchased this line of vehicles. Later, this then became the basis of the present line of vehicles that we know today. In 1912, the trucks that were...

Skateboard Tricks
As skateboarders gather experience, they start attempting advanced tricks and maneuvers. Of these, the most popular are the aerials. Ollie is one of the most advanced and popular skateboard tricks. Legend has it that it was invented by Alan Ollie Gelfand. By using this technique the skateboarder jumps over, onto or up to an obstacle.
Throughout the exercise the board appears to stick to the skateboarder's feet. The Ollie is the basic skateboard trick, from which others can follow. But remember, it is not at all easy and takes long hours of practice to learn!
The board flip is another maneuver that is very popular. In a well-performed board flip, the skater completes a landing back onto the deck after the board turns one or more time under the rider's feet while both are in the air. Board flips can be of various types.
Another common and popular trick is known as a grind. A grind is performed by directing one and sometimes both trucks onto an object...

Toyota Recall Lawyer: Toyota Tacoma Recalled 3 Times in 4 Years!
As recently as July 15, 2005 Toyota announced a recall in their Tacoma series of trucks. This most recent recall addresses a manufacturing flaw in the front suspension lower ball joint. Many of these ball joints were scratched during manufacturing, which will cause wear and looseness, making it difficult to steer the trucks. In extreme cases, the lower ball joint may separate from the knuckle, causing the Toyota truck or SUV to veer out of control. If a driver loses control of his truck on a road or highway, a crash is almost inevitable.
Toyota will pay for dealers to replace these defective joints. This is just the most recent in a long line of recalls involving Toyota Tacomas and other Toyota trucks and SUV's.In February of 2005, Toyota announced that a recall of at least 22,228 Toyota Tacoma trucks equipped with automatic transmission. The parking brake pedal cable on these vehicles was not secured tightly enough, causing it to loosen and come off. Toyota declares that this...

Refinancing Your Home - Is the Time Right?
Refinancing your home is a major decision not to be taken lightly, even in this era of low interest rates and easy money. While every mortgage company in town is touting the strategy of getting a new loan before rates rise again, there are several things you'll want to be mindful of before you go about refinancing your home.In my view the key to refinancing your home isn't just the rate they're offering you: it's the total package looked at not only in terms of today, but a few years down the...
